Finally Some Data!!

I recently purchased the new htc phone from sprint and it came with this handy google app called "My Tracks".  I turn it on when I go out on a bike ride and it records all of these wonderful stats..so naturally they must be shared on the internets for all to see

I Love Metric

You should too.Emiily Haines is amazing.  Saw them live in Detroit at St Andrews Hall in 2007 and was blown away at the energy they put into their live show for what was admittedly a very small turnout for their show in Detroit.  They have continued to put out amazing records with their most current album "Fantasies" at the top of my daily playlist.

Metric is one of my favorite bands so I encourage you to enjoy their musical styling and explore further. I guarantee you will not be disappointed

I was here for a moment...then I was gone

It's been a year since my grandma has been gone from this place...I miss her everyday, more than I have missed anyone in my life...I have her picture on my dresser as a reminder of the person that I need to be in this life...

This was the email I wrote to my coworkers when I came back home after being told the news by my dad, never had I felt so sad in my life...it was only a year ago..but it seems like only yesterday..

To My ZAAZ Family,

It’s with a heavy heart, tear filled eye and deep pain in my stomach in which I send this note along..

Yesterday my Grandma Herron passed away at the age of 70 after struggling these past few months with complications with dialysis and various other health ailments; it was finally time for her finish her life’s journey and pass on.  Having spent a majority of my childhood living only two blocks away from my grandparents this has been especially tough for me as it was not uncommon for me to see her if not every day every other day walking home from school or watching me when my parents were at work or the countless trips up-north with her and my grandpa for weeks at a time just to get away from the city in the summer time.  My love of the Detroit Tigers and baseball in general is because she was the biggest fan, screaming and hollering at every hit, homerun and defensive play; plus she would let me stay up late to watch when my parents wouldn’t!

A lot of who I am today is because of her instilling a strong moral compass within me to make the right decisions and to help others when you can, and to be charitable and compassionate towards others.  I know we all can’t live forever I guess I just never imagined having any milestone in my life happen without her there to watch, she was very proud the day I got this job and was the first person I gave my business card to; I had never had a prouder moment.  It was getting more difficult for her these past few months but her feistiness and determination were ever present having surgery this only past Thursday to prolong her wonderful existence, but it was finally time for the pain to subside.  I just wish I was there to say goodbye and say I love you one final time….

I just wanted to share this with everyone because you guys are just as much a family to me as my own

~Andrew

Seattle Has Some Nice Scenery

Mountians!, originally uploaded by Andrew Sprung.

Driving to visit the friends who were in from the Midwest this week I stumbled across this wonderful view. I see these on my way to work everyday but never has the view been this awesome.

I feel truly lucky to be living in a place like this!  More photos to come..

Ernie Harwell Has Passed....A Sad Sad Day

Ernie Harwell passed away today...one of the most amazing things about growing up as a young kid in Michigan was sitting outside a nice summer day up north, listening to Ernie call a Tigers game on the radio win or lose, sitting there with my Granparents and just letting his wonderful voice fill the calmness of the vast woods that surrounded us.

This is one of the things I will always cherish in my life it is always sad to see someone pass on, especialy someone who has provided some many people with so much joy through the years...what a sad sad day..

Snowstorm in Billings...fear and loathing on I-90....Lets Get To Seattle ALIVE....

Snowstorm in Billings, originally uploaded by Andrew Sprung.

Low and behold i make it to Billings alive and pass out in the nicer of the two hotels I stayed in on the trip. I wake up expecting a nice easy drive to finish out the last leg of the trip to Seattle...oh it was anything but....

As soon as I hot the freeway I was caught in the midst of a hellish snowstorm blowing the Saturn Vue every which way. Taking refuge behind a semi it was a 35mph crawl for an hour until we could clear that treacherous mess, and lord knows those mountains were going to give me trouble..i just wanted this go forsaken snow to end...

Having a death wish I decided it would be a good idea to snap pictures with the Palm Pre all along the snowy journey through the western United States... I did so much of this that the Billings to Seattle journey is going to need to happen in several intense, life risking, and near death posts to come....
